Your Perfect Pocketbook

How many times have I heard women say they wish they could find their perfect purse? Do you have a blueprint in your mind of what would be the perfect handbag, tote, pocketbook, purse  - or whatever label you want to give it?

HOW ABOUT A CONTEST? I love a good contest, and for me a good contest is one that is pretty simple to enter and win. But I know there’s also some competitive girls out there who like to increase their chances, so on the simple side, to enter just leave a comment here telling me all about “Your Perfect Pocketbook!”
To increase your chances to win you will get one additional entry for each of the following actions (please be sure to let me know in your comment which ones you did so I can count in your extra entries):
  • Post about my contest on your blog (let me know where to look!)
  • Add to any other blog’s contest list
  • Join my newsletter or tell me in your comment if you are already on my mailing list
  • Follow my blog or tell me you already do (thanks Pat for the reminder on that!)
Just a few of my own designs
CONTEST DETAILS:
I will select three winners on Sept. 30th (which just happens to be my 7th year wedding anniversary to the love of my life!)

Grand Prize Winner will receive one custom made pocketbook based on the details included in her winning entry! The winning Pocketbook will be handcrafted by me (Dianne Hadaway) in fabrics, trims and hardware agreed upon by myself and the winner, and will be constructed and delivered within 4 weeks of the announcement of the Grand Prize winner! On Sept. 30th I will announce the names of the top 3 pocketbook designs as described in the comments submitted. Then we’ll let our blog readers vote on the most Perfect Pocketbook design. Voting will be open for one week only. Whoever gets the most votes wins. I and my daughter will personally decide any tie-breaker and we will announce the winner on Oct. 7th. The winner will agree to allow copyright for the design to be owned by Mama’s Pocketbook and the design will be named after the winner! Mama’s Pocketbook may recreate the design for sale, however each pocketbook will be made as a one of a kind original utilizing various fabrics and trims. No two will ever be alike! Please note that my creations are rendered from fabric, I do not sew with leather. It’s possible to use pre-made leather accents like straps, handles or hardware, but I do not construct full leather bags. Thanks!!

First Place Winner will be selected by random drawing through the list generator at Random.org and will receive a purse organizing package included a Pouchee Organizer and Three (3) of my Fabric Card Cases in fabric selected by the winner from the available fabrics on the product pages for these items.

Second Place Winner will be selected by random drawing through the list generator at Random.org and will receive a purse organizing package including Three (3)of my Fabric Card Cases in fabric selected by the winner from the available fabrics on the card cases product page.
Contest begins NOW (9/6/2010)– Only one detailed entry per person please – Describe your ultimate Perfect Pocketbook! Crossover the body hobo style? Is it large, medium, small? Is it colorful or neutral? Does it do double duty (diaper bag/ personal bag or business tote/laptop bag)?  Use your imagination and be detailed!
I think I’ve thought of everything, but if something’s missing, I’ll add it when it becomes apparent!

Oh fun fun fun! My perfect pocketbook has to have lots of pockets and compartments. One for a cell phone, ipod, pens, small notepad, lipgloss, glasses, keys (maybe with a leash so they don't wander to the depths), checkbook, wallet then a shoulder strap, easy open and secure close, durable fabric spot cleanable.
Outside of that, I don't ask for much, lol.
I already follow your blog and am signed up for your newletter. Have tweeted this, and will go add to my blog now. I hope I win, I hope I win, lol.
Hugs,

One that was big enough to hold a lot of things, but didn't break your shoulder when you carried it!

My perfect bag is sort of Betsey Johnson meets Gianni Versace and they travel in a Gypsy Wagon! lol It's medium to largish (but NOT big enough to be an elephant saddlebag!), and FUNKY! It has an adjustable strap, a hoboesque shape, and a zipper closure as well as a flap. It's very much a hodgepodge of textiles and trims in true gypsy style. It must have just a touch of bling, preferably vintage. I like a few pockets inside for girly stuff like phone, lipstick, and keys. I also like a bit of "stability" but not so much tailored stiffness. Rich colors and textures are also a must! :) I'm following your blog (AGAIN!, I receive your newsletter, and am going to add your contest to my blog now! Thanks for such a fun contest Dianne...may the best bag win! xoxo Andy

My perfect bag would be FUNKY! Something like Betsey Johnson meets Versace on a gypsy caravan ride...LOL A hodgepodge of rich colors, textures and trims, a little (preferably vintage) bling, and an adjustable strap so I can wear it cross body or on the shoulder, it has a lightly structured sort of saddlebag shape (but not a saddlebag large enough for an elephant!), with an inside zipper for security. It would have several pockets inside for girly stuff. I've followed your blog AGAIN, I receive your newsletter, and I'm going to post this on my blog. Thank you sweet friend for the FUN FUN giveaway! xoxo Andy

Dianne...
What a fun contest!! My first requirement is that the pocketbook when empty is lightweight. Arthritis and fibromyalgia in my shoulders means heavy pocketbooks are a no-no! But I do want a shoulder bag!!

I actually cannot think of anything more perfect than one of your Purse'onality bags...that way I get one bag with added looks!! I love pockets inside for easy access to keys, checkbook, pen and also love the Pouchees. At least part of the fabric design MUST be PINK!! And I'd like the fabrics to be easily laundered or dry cleaned.

I am a blog follower, I receive your newsletter, I have posted to Twitter, and both my FB pages and I am off to post to my blog!!

Thanks for the opportunity to play!!
Love and hugs!

My perfect purse would have 3 pockets inside for cards, sunglasses and important papers. There would also be a pocket on the outside for pens(so they would be easy accessible)I would like a quilted fabric purse with chicken fabric.I collect chicken things. It would be realistic looking or whimsical. It doesn't really matter.

Oh how cool.
I am a new follower and just saw where I can follow on facebook and twitter. Now I need to find how to subscribe to your newsletter and try and post on my blog about you contest. My blog is: http://hollybaumshighlights.blogspot.com/

My idea of a perfect pocketbook would be lots of pockets. Your designs are so neat and unique, I love them all. I would have to have a shoulder strap because you can't shop if you have to hold your pocketbook. I am a horse lover so horse print fabric would be a neat addition. Otherwise your ideas are so great you could do whatever you wanted to it. :-)

Thank you so much for giving everyone this opportunity. :-)

p.s. if I end up with 2 posts delte one of them. I posted once then didn't see it so I am tring again. :-)

I am a follower and a fan! I'll repost on facebook.

It is hard to say what my favorite pocketbook would look like. I have so many I love. I collect vintage handbags.

Right now I am loving a tote. One pocket inside near the bottom so the goodies don't fall out.

I would like it be made out of something recycled. Old coat becomes tote. So many textiles end up in land fills.

The idea of a tote for shopping that keeps us away from plastic/paper bags. Made from recycled goodies and helps the planet.

I like to toss my smaller everyday bag in the bottom of a tote.

I'm back Dianne!!! Believing for a chance at a new top-of-the-line tote! Unique, but not out of date.
Zipper closers for smaller items inside and/or outside and lined with same or coordinating fabric. Big enough for a road trip, but lightweight for comfort. A color that can be used during any season, and smart looking to stand out in a crowd. One that would have women screaming "I must have one of these"! I must....I must!!!

My "Perfect Pocketbook" is one of which has plenty of little spots for extra things like cell phone, reading eye glasses(Imagine that!), keys, sunglasses, checkbook with wallet, and perhaps even more places for extra things for traveling...passport, contact holders etc. I especially love the patterns that Diane has chosen since they remind of years ago and the beautiful floral designs....I especially love the pink and magenta color roses and flowers. I keep looking at the web site and just can't decide...Maybe I need a purse for every occasion: travel, beach, mountains, overseas travel, etc etc...Please help me make up my mind, Diane! And the best wishes and good luck to the winner of the contest! Love, Debbie

I just had a dream last night that I was getting an important call on my cell phone but couldn't find it in my purse fast enough!

My perfect purse has a long adjustable strap, so it can be hip-length. It also has an secure but easy-to-access area for my cell phone & keys. Ideally it would have a little snap-out wallet with a long string strap on it that I could wear across my body, under my coat, for times when I want my hands free (like shopping at the mall or walking through the woods) without having to change purses or wear a fanny pack (Yikes!).

I already follow your blog & I will post now on facebook to let people know about this contest :)
