Such Pink Sweetness!!

This is my lucky week I tell ya! Yesterday I got some really BIG news (that I'll share in the next post!) and today I have been crowned! Three times in one day! This lovely Pink Crown represents the "You Make My Day" Award. How cool is that? Oh and this lovely picture to the right was sent with my award from Janet B. of Janet's Creative Pillows. I have to tell you about her, she is the sweetest, most positive and hilarious person you could ever know. And talented too, if you've never seen her pillow designs, check out her website, and you'll find pillows like you've never seen anywhere before! She is SEW creative!

And thank you to my sweet friend MMP Gail, for picking me and my blog to honor, and who has a really sweet blog of her own called "Cup Cakes and Cute Stuff" and that name always makes my mouth water. Check out Gail's jewelry too for some more pretties to drool over! (here... I snagged one of her photos so I could entice you even more ... hope you don't mind Gail! )

And thank you also to Lisa for also sending me the "You Make My Day" award. She is another of my sweet friends and the Coffee Chat Diva from over on MMP, who also has a beautiful blog called "Pale Pink and Roses" (Yikes! I just remembered that Lisa also tagged me last month with that tell 7 weird things about yourself blog thingie ... I'll have to see if I can work that one out to post and pass on too... later, like next month!! HA! Is that weird? Can I use it in my list?!)

Ok, so, this "You Make My Day" award is not just to keep and gloat over ... (gloat! That's such a funny word - and fun to say!) So, here's the dealie ... (I took this from Janet's blog!)

The rules are as follows:
The“You Make My Day” award must be presented to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blog land. Let them know through email or by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times, and if you do, consider yourself really, really loved. So to pass it on and keep the love going.

Ok, I have run out of time, I am going to post my picks for passiong the the "You Make My Day" award in a new post because I want to have the time to post links to their sites for them too so you can visit them and make your own day brighter! I only have two so far... the rest I'll post when I get back from the fabric store!!

1. Dawn, proprietress of the lovely shop My Hydrangea Home and you will find her beautiful blog here - Hydrangea Home.

2. Ok, I don't really know this lady, I just found her blog aftere clicking on some blog links on Dawn's blog that led me to a blogger from England and then to another who then led me to this one! Isn't that what blogging is all about!?! Anyway, her blog made me very happy, in fact when I went to it the song "Come On Get Happy" by the Partridge family started playing on her playlist! I'm going to have to spend some time there reading, but I can already tell that she's a neat lady and I like her ... and the fact that she's an older mom like me! Her name is Debbie and her blog is called This Is The Life (catchy! which is why I clicked it!) Now I'll need to post to her and let her know that this crazy stranger just gave her a You Make My Day award!

3 - 10 ... Stay tuned...

Free Sewing Patterns & How-To's & A DRAWING!!

This freebies page on my website is a project I've been meaning to kickstart for a long time now. I get so much great feedback on my free tote pattern I thought it would be great to give my visitors links to some of the fabulous free patterns and sewing tutorials I've been finding on the net.

Check it out and if
you know of one I should add, please be sure to come back here and let me
know. In fact I think I'll have a DRAWING and give away a free pattern to celebrate
finally getting this resource going!

It's only just barely started, but I read this quote the other day that made me decide to go ahead and put it up even if it was just a few links to start with.

The quote was "Don't let perfect get in the way of good!" That really convicted me! I often let my perfectionistic tendencies keep me from even getting started with my ideas, a habit I intend to break in 2008!

I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted here on my poor neglected blog! It has been pretty crazy around here and I've been buried under mounds of fabric trying to fill all the great orders for purses and getting my prototypes for the new product line done, and getting my press kit created and sent off to Country Living for the Pitch Your Product event in Chicago on March 15th! (I'll have more on that after I post this, um, so that might mean you will read that before this if you get here after I post it, LOL!!) I got my application and press kit in just in the nick of time, which is another bad habit I intend to turn around this year.

Things are popping at Mama's Pocketbook, and I am soooo NOT complaining :) I couldn't be happier, or tireder (see I'm so tired I am letting myself use made up words). I do need to find a solution though that will relieve me of working 20 hours days 7 days a week. Thank goodness I get to go to Chicago in ... what? 18 DAYS!!! Ok, no rest for the weary. I'm going to need every precious minute to get all my orders out, my product ready, my tiara made (that's another post to come) ... so, ok, lets talk about this contest then and get that spur-of-the-moment fun started!
Here's the deal... This Friday, Feb 29th (Sadie Hawkins Day!) I'll run the random number generator on all the comments I get on this post that help me add to my freebies page. And the prize will be the winners choice a one of these very popular and coveted new sewing patterns by Amy Butler:

That's it, no real rules, except be sure that any link you suggest is really a FREE resource and that I don't have it already on the list. I'll be adding to the list myself as often as I can take a minute to search for good stuff to share, so if you post a link that I end up adding this week before I see your post, you'll still get in the drawing. And if you have some of your own free crafting or sewing tut's or how-to's - well, Post 'em if you've got 'em!

Thanks very much! I'll be back to post more about Chicago and all the excitement going on over at MMP for 2008!

What's Up for 2008!

True to my nature, here I am on Jan.8th, saying Happy New Year! My kids just started back to school today, so this is really my first official workday of 2008. Of course, I've been working, planning, strategizing, and DESIGNING away all through the holidays. I'm going to be up to my neck in work for the next couple of months as we gear up over at MakeMinePink.com for all the outrageous plans we have in 2008. Not to mention that my spotlight ad in Victoria has sparked quite a lot of traffic to my website and orders for my newest bag, aptly named Victoria!

Here's a picture of my Victoria tote in a beautiful Raymond Waites Sage floral linen with a gorgeous contrasting barkcloth band set off with a wide vintage tatted lace trim. (for more details, and ordering info go HERE!)
So, since I only posted an average of one post per week in 2007, I'm aiming to really recreate my blog this year and see what kind of fun things I can conjure up to make it an interesting and exciting one.

It's definitely starting out to be an interesting and exciting New Year! Here are some of the things I've got coming up real soon...
1. My interview with a wonderful Romance Novelist for the "Women Who Inspire" column, for February (at MMP).

2. I'm designing a whole new bag concept, that I will be pitching to the panel at the Country Living 2008 Women Entrepreneur's event in Chicago on March 15th! Oh yeah! I'm going to Chicago, along with a bunch of my Pink Sisters and we are going to have the biggest, pinkest party ever! Stay tuned for developing details!

3. A new RED vintage inspired purse is coming for Valentine's Day! I hope to launch it by this weekend (1/12/08).

4. I'm adding a Gallery of photos for the very sweet ladies who have emailed me awesome pictures of all the totes they've made from my free tote pattern on my site. Very creative!

I'm sure there's more ... my brain is working overtime, all the time, so there's definitely more to come. Meanwhile, have a wonderful week and I'll be posting again real soon!
